Kids Paradise aims to empower female-headed households and to promote gender sensitive humanitarian aid focusing on child protection and establishing networks for capacity building and awareness raising. Protection is one of Kids Paradise’s largest programs.
PSS Center Almaidain
We have a Psychosocial Support (PSS) Center in the Almaidain IDP camp next to the Turkish border in Qah, Idlib. Three days a week we run activities for children and have been doing so since August of 2016. In January we ran a special project to distribute 300 toys to children at this center.
Orphan’s Center Programs - Reyhanli, Turkey
Starting in July of 2016 we began to run programs at an Orphan’s Center for Syrian refugees in Reyhanli, Turkey. So far, since we began these operations we have provided a special week-long English and Turkish language boot-camp which provided children with English and Turkish lessons, and additionally provided teacher training and support for teachers. In addition to trainings such as these, this center gives Kids Paradise the opportunity to throw parties for children with painting, games, cake, and juice provided to all children.
PSS Center - Doma
In January of 2017 we ran a test project with 85 children to see if there was a need in Doma, outside of besieged Damascus, for a new PSS center. The response was overwhelming and we have plans to begin another PSS center there soon.
