Every child deserves the right to play, imagine, and be the author of their own story. with Changing Stories, we witnessed the transformative power of play as we visited camps in Türkiye. Despite the tough times these children are facing after recent earthquakes, we came together to bring joy and laughter into their lives.
“From official camp structures to make-shift camps, schools, orphanages, and shelters, we made it our mission to spread happiness. We played shows, engaged in theater games, blew giant bubbles, painted colorful bunting and costumes, and face-painted a myriad of characters. But most importantly, we danced until our feet could hardly bear us anymore.”
These children, who have endured so much, often lack even the most basic rights. That’s why we focused on the right to play. We believe that play fosters resilience and empowers children to face any challenge that comes their way. Each session we had with them revealed their growing resilience and unwavering spirit.
We are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of these children. By providing them with moments of joy and creativity, we aim to restore a sense of normalcy and remind them of their own strength.
